Hello! I’m Nicola, the woman behind the lens, a mother of two (Will, a boy; Frankie, a sausage dog), avid baker and wife-in-the-making. My favourite meal is breakfast, at any time of day.
I photograph babies, families, weddings and all sorts of events. I love to shoot special moments that can be captured for a lifetime. Kids are my absolute favourite, because they just do their own thing while I get completely lost in their world. I’m especially fond of getting the elusive family portrait that can be happily displayed on the wall. I think having a family photo someplace in the home where a child can see it everyday (without turning on a device) is a source of comfort and creates a warm, and loving environment. And it warms my own heart to know I was a part of it.
I also love a wedding! Documenting one of the most magical days in a couple’s life together that can be relived for years to come. I capture the big and small moments of the day as it naturally unfolds without any forced awkwardness. I would like to think my work is fun, beautiful, honest and natural. I love all the girly getting ready stuff with all the little details that have been carefully chosen. And I’ve been to enough weddings now to know how to fix a tie/veil/strap, pin a buttonhole, show you how to hold a bouquet, carry spare lip gloss, check if there is spinach in your teeth or if Uncle Bob is wearing sunnies in all of your family shots.
I aim to capture real life, as perfectly imperfect as it may be. I come from a long line of lensmen and am lucky enough to call this my ‘job’ for over ten years.
