Introducing Mr Darcy!

Having recently started to crawl, Darcy was the perfect age to have a really candid portrait session and capture his gentle and playful nature. I spent an hour or so one warm afternoon photographing this little guy,  just following him around the house and doing what he does best…being a total cutie!

It’s days like this my job is especially fun, so thank you to my wonderful portrait clients for allowing me to do what I do best!

I’ve known Al since he was a little boy. He was the ‘little boy down the road’ and was the only other kid on our inner-city street. We spent so much time together we became like brother and sister, perhaps because we were both only children, either way we’ve remained friends for over 20 years. Over the years we have shared many birthday’s, Christmas’s, first days of school, up and down’s….the list goes on.

When Al told me he had proposed to Liz, he simply sent me a text saying the portraits we had planned to do of he and Liz was now going to have to be an Engagement portrait session! I was shocked and excited. I smiled and cried – my ‘little brother’ was all grown up!

Being a creative couple, they wanted to have a vintage feel to their portraits. We planned the outfits and the location to suit, the New Farm Powerhouse was an obvious choice and became the perfect setting.

It was an absolute pleasure to capture the love between Al and Liz and I am very much looking forward to photographing their wedding next year.

Love Nicola xx
