Something I have always loved about photographing families, is not just being invited into the family home but welcomed in. Really feeling part of the ‘gang’ for a few hours while we play, hang out & usually be a little bit silly.
Capturing & recording friends families is something pretty important to me, like the O’Brien’s who are one of the most lovely & gorgeous families I have ever met.
I was pretty to have met little Otis who was only a few days earthside, (how sweet are teeny little babies?!) and his big sister Elke navigating her way around this new family member and basically the whole family in the strange bubble that is newborn life and absolutely nailing it!
I’m also a big believer and advocate for encouraging families to record all the different stages of family life as they grow and change, not just to capture the classic everyone smiling at the camera or certain milestones, but the real essence of a family.
So that’s exactly what we did one warm summer’s morning.

Last year I had a little trip to lovely Melbourne town, a little bit work & a little bit holiday.
I absolutely adore Melbourne – the art galleries, the shopping, the coffee, the food, the weather (yep a cool change for this Brissy girl is fine with me!) and I have some dear clients who were keen for some family photos so we crossed our fingers for an outdoor session in one of the most darling parks I’ve seen, it reminded me of my days living in London with the maple leaves carpeting the ground.
I always adore seeing the world through a child’s eyes, so watching Bonnie in her element was just gorgeous! Oh to be young & free again!
