When Nadine contacted me to enquire about having her bump captured, she mentioned two things that stuck with me. Firstly, she was hesitant to have any maternity photos taken at all and was convinced by her friend (another beautiful mama I have photographed). Secondly, that if we could make her session happen at the beach.

I’m so grateful for the wonderful families I have photographed over the past 10 or so years, and in recent years the lovely people who continue to recommend me to their family & mates.

I was super keen to photograph a maternity session as the beach, I love being near the water and had the perfect spot in mind. Our planning aligned and we had the most divine sunset, and managed to surprise her partner Luke with her stunning bump portraits.

I’m often asked what’s the ‘perfect’ time for family portraits? My answer that is always that there’s lots of stages that are perfect – the newborn bubble, once bub is sitting up, whenever your little one can crawl or walk…and every stage in between.

I don’t believe in perfect, I believe in what’s real.

Sometimes it’s not about waiting for the ‘perfect’ time, but making the time to have your family to have your family recorded and knowing you have captured a stage in your families history.

Emily, Sean & Lachlan embraced the laid back feel of their lifestyle session with lots of snuggles and cuddles together, and to me that’s what it’s all about.

If you like the idea of relaxed family photos, then get in touch with me and lets make it happen!
